About
Russell Billboards

Russell Billboards was founded by Gene Russell, a passionate entrepreneur, community advocate, and lifelong fan of the game of baseball. What began as a vision to connect brands with the people of Houston has grown into a trusted presence along the city’s most traveled corridors. Today, Russell Billboards continues Gene’s mission — creating opportunity, supporting equity, and giving back to the communities that shaped him.

A Legacy That Lives On

Gene Russell believed in more than just advertising — he believed in people. He saw billboards not just as signage, but as a way to support the local economy, promote meaningful messages, and reflect the vibrancy of Houston. Though Gene has passed, his legacy continues through every face we operate and through the foundation created in his name to serve and strengthen the city he loved.

Supporting Houston Communities

Russell Billboards is deeply connected to the neighborhoods surrounding our locations. From youth sports and school programs to local nonprofits and business initiatives, we actively invest in the health, equity, and growth of our community. One of our current initiatives through the Russell Foundation is the development of Baytown Park, a new public greenspace in Baytown that will serve as a safe, inclusive gathering place for families and neighbors. Our foundation exists to carry on Gene’s generous spirit, with a special focus on supporting underserved areas and promoting opportunity for all Houstonians.
